Aflac To Sponsor The No. 99 In 2009

Scene Daily is reporting that the exclusive negotiating period between Office Depot and Roush Fenway Racing over the sponsorship for Carl Edwards and the No. 99 has ended.

Office Depot appeared to blame the delay on negotiations on the fact that Edwards didn’t resign with Roush until the exclusive period was almost over.

Mindy Kramer, Office Depot’s PR director, said,

Carl was not signed until almost the very end of our period of exclusive talks, so that was a hindrance to us being able to have some meaningful discussions. How do you have meaningful discussions with a team when he may have ended up somewhere else?

Jayski is reporting that Aflac, which gained an exclusive negotiation window when Office Depot passed, has signed on to be the full time sponsor of the No. 99 Ford in 2009.
