NASCAR Issues Penatlies To Haas CNC
On Wednesday, NASCAR issued penalties, fines, and suspensions to the Haas CNC’s No. 66 and No. 70 teams.
After someone alerted NASCAR to issues with the wing mounts on the No. 66 and No. 70 last weekend at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, NASCAR impounded the two cars for further inspection.
After the inspections, the two teams were found to be in violation of Sections 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 20-3.1.3A (wing mounting locations were not as specified by the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rule Book).
As a result, both Scott Riggs and Johnny Sauter were docked 150 driver’s points. Both teams lost 150 owner’s points. Crew chiefs Bootie Barker (66) and Dave Skog (70) and car chiefs Derick Jennings (66) and Thomas Harris (70) were suspended six races and put on probation until Dec. 31.
Barker and Skoh were also fined $100,000 each.
