In a blog on SpeedTV‘s website, it is being reported that Richard Childress Racing’s No. 07 Chevy is the favorite to land the UPS sponsorship.
Originally, Jeff Burton was said to be the favorite but UPS wanted a younger driver that it could build a long-term relationship with.
Most of the other sponsorship deals for 2009 are expected to be wrapped up after Tony Stewart makes his decision, according to the blog.
Roush Fenway Racing has confirmed that David Ragan will return in the No. 6 next season. The team is awaiting Stewart’s announcement before it completes its sponsorship deal. The team did confirm that Office Depot will not be back with Roush next season.
