Earnhardt Ganassi Racing driver Martin Truex Jr was transported to an emergency room Saturday to be treated for kidney stones.
Following final practice, the decision was made for Truex to go to the emergency room based on how he felt in the car during practice.
At this time, he is expected to start the Kobalt Tools 500. No word on whether a driver will be on standby in case Truex needs to get out of the car, or who that driver would be.
