Stewart Wins Coke Zero 400

As Kyle Busch slammed into the outside wall, Tony Stewart took the checkered flag to win the Coke Zero 400 on Saturday night.
Stewart had a dominant car all day, leading the most laps. But, on the penultimate lap, Stewart found himself leading Busch and Denny Hamlin, his former Joe Gibbs Racing teammates. Hamlin was able to push Busch by Stewart, but he left a small gap that Stewart was able to fill, causing Hamlin to lose his momentum, and Stewart to break up the JGR teammates.
Coming off of Turn 4, Stewart got into the back of Busch, forcing him to go low to maintain control of his car. Stewart then darted to the outside to make the pass. Busch then attempted to block, but stewart was too far beside him. Busch and Stewart made contact, sending Busch spinning into the outside wall.
Busch bounced off the wall and, before his car came to a rest, Kasey Kahne slammed hard into the back of him. The contact sent the nose of Kahne’s car under the rear of Busch’s car, lifting it into the air.
Busch then spun again and made contact with the outside wall. As his car bounced off the wall again, Joey Logano T-boned the driver’s side of Busch Camry. Busch, however, was able to walk away from the accident unscathed. He finished 14th.
Several others cars spun, and were involved.
Top 5: Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, Hamlin, Carl Edwards, and Kurt Busch.
Marcos Ambrose, Brian Vickers, Matt Kenseth, Juan Montoya, and Elliott Sadler rounded out the top 10.
Notables: Jamie McMurray (11th), Kyle Busch (14th), Kasey Kahne (15th), Jeff Burton (16th), Greg Biffle (18th), Ryan Newman (20th), Kevin Harvick (26th), Jeff Gordon (28th), Clint Bowyer (29th), David Reutimann (36th), Mark Martin (38th), and Dale Earnhardt Jr (39th).
On lap 77, contact between Kasey Kahne and David Stremme triggered a multi-car wreck that involved the cars of Dale Earnhardt Jr and David Reutimann. Kahne and Stremme made contact, turning Stremme into the outside wall.
As Stremme and Kahne spun down the track, Reutimann attempted to avoid them by cutting to the right. But, he made contact and spun right into the path of Earnhardt Jr. The wreck ended Dale Jr’s day. He finished 39th.
Give a call to Regan Smith. He stayed out of trouble and ran strong all day. He finished 12th.
