Martin Wins Lifelock.com 400

Mark Martin easily held off teammate Jeff Gordon in the closing laps of the Lifelock.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway. But, it was still a wild finish because beatin’ and bangin’ in the closing laps resulted in two lead changes and took some dominant cars out of contention.

Truex’s Car Too High?

NASCAR took the Earnhardt Ganassi Racing Chevy of Martin Truex Jr to its research and development facility for further evaluation after the vehicle was found to be too high. Truex’s car was selected for a random inspection.

Keselowski To PCR?

Brad Keselowski’s name has been connected to Penske Championship Racing’s No. 12 for the second year in a row, FoxSports.com reports. David Stremme has been struggling this season, as may not be in the ride come next season. Right now, Keselowski hopes to stay with Hendrick Motorsports, or a satellite team.

Yates Racing may be considering cleaning house with its stable of drivers, Paul Menard and Bobby Labonte, according to FoxSports.com. According to Fox Sports.com, David Gilliland may drive a fourth Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota later this season. Gilliland had made every race he’s attempted in the TRG Motorsports Toyota.

Logano Wins Dollar General 300

Joey Logano stayed out on old tires during a late caution of the Dollar General 200 at Chicagoland Speedway. To everyone’s surprise, including Logano himself, he drove away from teammate Kyle Busch on the final restart and won the race by over 2 seconds.

Vickers Waiting To Sign Contract

Mayfields May Sell Team

Jeremy and Shana Mayfield are considering selling Mayfield Motorsports team due to a lack of funds as the result of his failed drug test and subsequent suspension. In addition to the costs of his lawsuit over NASCAR’s drug policy, Mayfield also faces a lawsuit over $86,000 he allegedly owes to Triad Racing Technologies.
