GoDaddy.com has signed on to sponsor the No. 5 Chevy for 20 races in the Sprint Cup series – including the season-opening Daytona 500.
Team owner Rick Hendrick said:
I can’t overstate the contribution [Mark Martin’s] made or the kind of teammate he’s been, and we’re excited that he’ll race with us for the next two years. With his focus and dedication, he will continue to make all of us better.
Mark Martin said:
It’s a real privilege to have this opportunity with GoDaddy.com and to work with Rick, Alan [Gustafson] and everyone at Hendrick Motorsports. I’m looking forward to building on what we’ve started and driving some great GoDaddy.com race cars.
Martin originally retired 2006, but came back to drive a partial schedules with Ginn Racing and Dale Earnhardt Inc. This year, Martin has shown a resurgence, winning four races in his first year running a full schedule since 2006. He is currently the points leader heading into the first weekend of the Chase.
