Eury Sr Suffers Minor Injuries In Accident

JR Motorsports’ crew chief Tony Eury Sr is in the hospital after being involved in a two-car accident Sunday afternoon, according to SceneDaily. Eury Sr was being treated for minor injuries and is expected to be released today.

Tryson To Be Crew Chief For MWR’s No. 56

As expected, Michael Waltrip Racing announced that Pat Tryson would become the crew chief of Martin Truex Jr and the No. 56 NAPA Toyota next season.

Labonte To The 07?

Bobby Labonte is rumored to be a contender to replace Casey Mears in Richard Childress Racing’s No. 07 next season. He has also been connected to Earnhardt Ganassi Racing’s No. 1, but Jamie McMurray might be the leading candidate for that ride.

Hamlin Wins At Richmond; Vickers In Chase

Denny Hamlin finally turned domination at Richmond into victory, winning the Chevy Rock & Roll 400. Kyle Busch finished fifth, but Brian Vickers’ seventh-place finish was enough to put him in the Chase and keep Busch out. Matt Kenseth also missed the Chase after finishing 25th.

Skinner Wins Copart 200

After spinning both Todd Bodine and Ron Hornaday in similar fashion, Matt Crafton was black flagged, giving the lead, and essentially the victory of the Copart 200 to Mike Skinner.

Edwards Wins Va. 529 College Savings 250

Carl Edwards overcame a last-place starting spot and a broken foot to win the Va. 529 College Savings 250 at Richmond International Raceway. This is the third time Edwards started a Nationwide race in last place, and went on to win.

RPM To Merge With Yates, Switch To Fords

Richard Petty Motorsports will conduct its second merger in as many seasons, as RPM will merge with Yates Racings, fielding Fords in the Sprint Cup Series in 2010.
