NASCAR.com is reporting that Roush Fenway Racing is fielding four full-time Nationwide Series teams next season, including a Ford for Paul Menard. Menard will be a teammate to Colin Braun, Ricky Stenhouse Jr, and Carl Edwards.
Depite earlier reports that Richard Childress Racing would field it’s No. 07 car at the Daytona 500, the team said that it will not field the car, driven by Casey Mears, because sponsorship could not be found. Meanwhile, BB&T has renewed its sponsorship of Clint Bowyer and the No. 33 car.
Roush Fenway Racing sold its No. 26 car number, owner points’, and equipment to Bill Jenkins, owner of Latitude 43, an organic soap company. Baker Curb Racing announced that Greg Biffle will drive its No. 27 Red Man Moist Snuff Ford in the Nationwide Series in 2010. No word on which races he will run, with the exception of the season opener at Daytona.
Aric Almirola will drive Phoenix Racing’s No. 09 full time in the Sprint Cup Series in 2010. Almirola drove one race for Phoenix last year, he finished 29th. Almirola is also slated to drive a few races for Billy Ballew Motorsports in the Camping World Truck Series.
Kraft Foods has joined Stewart Hass Racing as an associate sponsor. Kraft’s Oreo cookie and Ritz crackers brands will appear on both Tony Stewart’s and Ryan Newman’s uniforms and their Sprint Cup cars. Stewart will also drive a No. 4 Oreo/Ritz Chevy in the Nationwide Series opener at Daytona.
BAM Racing announced that it has formed a technical alliance with Robby Gordon Motorsports for the 2010 Sprint Cup Series season. RGM will provide BAM with personnel, cars, and technical support. A driver has not yet been named.
