Johnson Earns First Career Win At Bristol

[1]On the final pit stop of the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway, Jimmie Johnson took four tires when others took two. On the final restart, Johnson started fifth behind cars that took two tires. Ten laps later, he took the lead from Tony Stewart. He led the final six laps to earn his 50th career race, and first at Bristol.

Top 5: Johnson, Stewart, Kurt Busch, Greg Biffle, and Matt Kenseth.

Carl Edwards, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Jamie McMurray, Kyle Busch, and Jeff Burton finished sixth through 10th, respectively.

Notables: Kevin Harvick (11th), Martin Truex Jr (12th), Brad Keselowski (13th), Jeff Gordon (14th), Brian Vickers (15th), Ryan Newman (16th), Paul Menard (17th), Denny Hamlin (19th), Juan Montoya (26th), Joey Logano (27th), Kasey Kahne (34th), Mark Martin (35th), David Reutimann (38th), and Clint Bowyer (40th).

Pole sitter Joey Logano suffered tire problems and finished 27th. Mark Martin and Juan Montoya were involved in a multi-car wreck that was triggered when Greg Biffle and Martin got together, sending Martin in the wall. Martin cut a tire and forced a bottleneck that caused the crash. In addition to Montoya and Martin, Martin Truex Jr, Jeff Gordon, Marcos Ambrose, Brian Vickers, Ryan Newman, David Ragan, Brad Keselowski, Carl Edwards, and Joey Logano were involved. Ambrose and Martin suffered the most damage. Ambrose finished 33rd while Martin finished 35th.
