Someone tweeted that it was just a number. I disagree with that. Fans identify with the numbers of their favorite driver, especially when the driver has a strong connection to the number. And, given the tragic end to the number, seeing it on track is sure to stir up some memories, emotions. I know I’ll like seeing Earnhardt Jr honoring Sr that way.
