Jeff Gordon saw his 2.5 second lead in the closing laps of the Crown Royal 400 at Richmond International Raceway evaporate when Elliott Sadler blew a tire and slid across the track. That allowed Kyle Busch to get tires and mount a charge that would ultimately result in his 17th career Sprint Cup victory.

Brad Keselowski was running away from the field in the Bubba Burger 250 at Richmond International Raceway before a late caution closed his large lead. Keselowski took four tires when others took two or stayed out. The decision paid off when he passed Greg Biffle, who took two tires, on the final lap to win the race
