Report: Wal-Mart In Talks With HMS About Sponsorship

According to SceneDaily.com ^[1], Wal-Mart is in “deep discussions” with Hendrick Motorsports about sponsoring the No. 24 Chevy and driver Jeff Gordon. Wal-Mart is also said to be in talks about a deal that would make the retail giant the exclusive retailer in the mass merchandise space.

At this point, it’s unclear whether or not Wal-Mart would seek to sponsor a single driver for multiple races, or if they would sponsor several drivers for only a few races, similar to Coca Cola or Gillette.
