Robby Gordon To Skip Lenox Industrial Tools 301

Robby Gordon said that he will skip this weekend’s Lenox Industrial Tools 301 Sprint Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Robby Gordon Motorsports’ No. 7 Toyota will be driven instead by PJ Jones. The team doesn’t have enough sponsorship to run the entire race, so the plan is to run 20 – 30 laps.

Gordon said:

It’s ridiculous that we can’t find sponsorship, but that’s where we are.

Gordon’s second-place finish at Infineon Raceway has put the team solidly in the top 35 in owner’s points. The team moved into the top 35 when Front Row Motorsports was hit with a penalty for illegal bleeder mechanisms.

Gordon said:

There is no question about us remaining in the top 35. We’re solidly in there with what we managed to accomplish [Sunday]. It was obviously a good run for us. We came here to win the race, but second place is pretty darn close to winning it. My team needs a little bit of morale here and there. This will boost morale back at the workshop.
