Stock Car Racing Appeals Panel Upholds FRM Penalty

The National Stock Car Racing Appeals Panel heard and considered the appeal of Front Row Motorsports regarding the penalties assessed to the #38 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car for illegal bleeder mechanisms.

FRM argued that stem caps designed to bleed air were developed by members of the team unbeknownst to FRM management. Then, they were loaded on the hauler mistakenly and taken to Pocono Raceway. Then, someone accidentally put the stem caps on the car before the start of the race.

The Panel did not find this explanation plausible, and upheld the original penalties assessed by NASCAR.
