NASCAR has indefinitely suspended a crew member for Richard Petty Motorsports’ No. 43 Sprint Cup team for violating the substance abuse policy. Chris Moore, who is listed as the team’s gasman, was found to have violated Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 19 (violation of the NASCAR substance abuse policy) of the 2010 NASCAR Rule Book.
Update: Richard Petty Motorsports released gasman Chris Moore after he was suspended for violating NASCAR’s substance abuse policy. RPM released a statement:
RPM fully supports NASCAR’s substance abuse policy and respects the decision to indefinitely suspend Moore. He has been released from his position at RPM, effective immediately.
