AMS Will Only Host One NASCAR Racing Weekend In 2011

Atlanta Motor Speedway, which is owned by Speedway Motorsports Inc, announced that in 2011, the track will have only one NASCAR racing weekend, instead of two. For the last 50 years, the track has hosted two NASCAR race weekends.

Speedway president Ed Clark said:

Atlanta Motor speedway has provided top-quality racing entertainment to spectators from across the nation and around the world for 50 years. While our schedule will change, our commitment to the racing fans who have been the heart and soul of Atlanta Motor Speedway through these years will be stronger than ever.
