The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Go Daddy Group Inc. has hired Qatalyst Partners to sell GoDaddy.com. Sources familiar with the matter said that an auction could fetch $1 billion.
Jesse Ma, an attorney with Gawker Media, wrote that Amazon should buy GoDaddy.com. He wrote to Amazon:
You already have excellent customer service resources from your e-commerce arm and you have the web infrastructure to take on the DNS management, domain, and hosting services offered by GoDaddy.com. You can take them from mediocre to awesome.
No word on how this will affect the sponsorship of Danica Patrick and JR Motorsports’ No. 7 Nationwide Chevy or Mark Martin and Hendrick Motorsports’ No. 5 Sprint Cup Chevy.
