Allgaier Still Looking For Ride Next Season

According to Dave Netwon’s blog on ESPN.com, Justin Allgaier is talking to Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series teams about next season, but none have stepped up with an offer for the young driver.

The problem was, and still is, that a sponsor must be found before he’ll be offered a ride.

Allgaier was given permission by Penske Racing owner Roger Penske to talk to other teams about a potential ride, after Verizon announced that it wouldn’t be sponsor the team’s No. 12 Nationwide Series Dodge.

Allgaier has spoken to Richard Petty Motorsports, which recently said it was open to a third team next season if a sponsor could be found. Joe Gibbs Racing has reportedly expressed interest. But, Allgaier says that the interest in him isn’t strong, unless he has a sponsor coming with him.
