Furniture Row Racing Hauler Severely Damaged In Accident

Furniture Row Racing’s team hauler and motor home were severely damaged in a 34-car pileup near the team’s headquarters in Denver, Colo., according to FoxSports.com .
The damage was so extensive that FRR couldn’t get inside the hauler due to the damaged back door, according to team general manager Joe Garone.
The trailer contained the team’s Phoenix cars. Driver Regan Smith is still expected to compete at Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend.
Upon hearing the news, Richard Childress Racing offered FRR use of a race transporter at Homestead. RCR’s hauler will meet the team at Homestead, where FRR will load their cars and run the race out of RCR’s hauler with that team’s equipment.
About a dozen people were injured in the accident, but none of the injuries were life-threatening. Garone also commented on the quick action taken by FRR’s motor home driver Garry Miller. Garone said:
The real hero of the story in our little group was Gary Miller, our coach driver, was following right behind the truck. He had a split-second decision to make of either running into the back of our truck, which was just about stopped, or running over cars. He chose to run head on into the back of our hauler. When you saw the coach, you’re like, ‘I can’t believe he did that.’ It certainly could’ve saved a lot of lives as he took a chance with his own there. That was an impressive thing.
Miller did suffer some bumps and bruises, but is okay.
