Kasey Kahne will have surgery on both knees following the end of the 2010 Sprint Cup season, according to AOL Fanhouse. He is expected to be sidelined for six weeks while he recovers.
Kahne indicated that the surgery wasn’t a big deal. He said that doctors are going to clean up the area surrounding the knee.
As a result of this decision, Kahne will miss off-season testing. But, he anticipates being ready to be behind the wheel of a Red Bull Racing Toyota in time for the season-opening 2011 Daytona 500 at the newly repaved Daytona International Speedway.
Perhaps Kahne’s decision was influenced by Denny Hamlin’s performance following his knee surgery earlier this season. Ha!
