Kasey Kahne will have surgery on both knees following the end of the 2010 Sprint Cup season, according to AOL Fanhouse . He is expected to be sidelined for six weeks while he recovers.
Kahne indicated that the surgery wasn’t a big deal. He said that doctors are going to clean up the area surrounding the knee.
As a result of this decision, Kahne will miss off-season testing. But, he anticipates being ready to be behind the wheel of a Red Bull Racing Toyota in time for the season-opening 2011 Daytona 500 at the newly repaved Daytona International Speedway.
Perhaps Kahne’s decision was influenced by Denny Hamlin’s performance following his knee surgery earlier this season. Ha!
