Roush Fenway Racing Lays Off About 60 Employees

Roush Fenway Racing has led off about 60 employees, according to a source close to the situation. The team is moving from four Nationwide Series teams last season to three in 2011.

The team is planning to field two full time cars, the No. 60 for Carl Edwards and the No. 16 for Trevor Bayne. RFR hopes to run a third, full time team with Ricky Stenhouse Jr next season, but that will depend on sponsorship.

In addition, RFR affiliate Richard Petty Motorsports is contracting from four Sprint Cup teams last season to two in 2011.

These moves left RFR overstaffed, and thus the layoffs occured.
