Faith Motorsports To Field Two N’Wide Cars In 2011

Faith Motorsports will field two Nationwide Series entries in 2011, the team announced recently. Morgan Shepherd and Brett Rowe will drive the cars.

Both cars will enter the Drive4COPD 300 at Daytona International Speedway to kick off the 2011 Nationwide season, and the plan is to run both cars through at least the first five races of 2011.

Shepherd will run the No. 89. The car will be owned by Shepherd Racing Ventures through a 2010 partnership with Richard Childress Racing’s No. 21. Childress will retain the No. 21, but the points will be applied to the No. 89, pending NASCAR approval. As a result, Shepherd will be locked into the first five races of 2011.

Rowe will drive a car — with its number yet to be approved by NASCAR — owned by Victory In Jesus Racing with Cindy Shepherd listed as owner. Last year’s points from the No. 89 will be applied to Rowe’s entry.

Both cars will fall under the Faith Motorsports banner.

Rowe has driven for FM’s sister team Herd Racing since 2008. Many of Herd’s crew members will move to Rowe’s FM team. Herd does not own a Nationwide COT and has no plans to run in 2011.
