NASCAR Announces Changes To Its Substance-Abuse Policy

NASCAR announced that it is making changes to its substance-abuse policy. The policy includes a longer explanation of the dangers of mizing medications, as well as specifying who is subject to tests for performance-enhancing drugs.

In the old policy, NASCAR explained that a mixture of medications could cause a violation. In the new policy, the explanation is more in depth.

NASCAR also added synthetic marijuana to its list of drugs that would cause a violation.

Other changes included a reminder that crewman must pass a drug test before entering the garage; a definition of a refused test, which includes uncooperation and attempting to mask results; a name for its reinstatement process (Road to Recovery).
