Kasey Kahne had minor surgery on his right knee on Monday to repair a torn meniscus, a team spokesman confirmed. Kahne had surgery on both knees in the offseason due to a condition called “plica syndrome.” Red Bull Racing said that Kahne would not need a backup driver at Richmond International Raceway. There was no word on when Kahne tore his meniscus.
On Thursday, Kahne tweeted:
It actually just about feels better now then it has the last month so yeah I will [definitely] be driving Richmond.
