NASCAR announced that it has indefinitely suspended Gary Frost, a crew member of the Richard Childress Racing’s No. 31 Sprint Cup Series team, for violating the sanctioning body’s substance abuse policy. On May 23rd, Frost was found to have violated Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 19 (violation of the NASCAR substance abuse policy) of the Sprint Cup Series rule book.
RCR issued a statement following the suspension:
Richard Childress Racing has zero tolerance when an employee fails a NASCAR drug test due to an illegal substance. As a result, that person’s employment is terminated. It is important for our fans and our partners to know illegal drug use at RCR is simply not tolerated.
