Bowyer Wants To Re-Sign With Richard Childress Racing

Clint Bowyer said he is close to re-signing with Richard Childress Racing. The only thing standing between him and a three-year extension, he says, is sponsorship money.

RCR owner Richard Childress said that he expects General Mills to return next season.

Bowyer had been rumored to be in contention for the No. 4 Red Bull Racing Toyota that will be vacant when Kasey Kahne leaves to drive the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy next season.

That deal is in jeopardy, now that RBR has announced they will be leaving the sport at season’s end.

Bowyer blamed the media for the RBR rumor, and was surprised by the story.
