Bowyer Set To Make 200th Cup Start At New Hampshire
Clint Bowyer, driver of the No. 33 Cheerios Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing, will make his 200th career start at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend in the Sprint Cup Series. Bowyer made his first career start in 2005 for RCR at the Phoenix International Raceway.
No driver is happier to see NHMS this weekend than Bowyer and his No. 33 team. The last two weeks have been disappointing for Bowyer finishing 36th at Daytona and 35th atKentucky.
Bowyer won the Sylvania 300 last fall, leading 176 laps. Bowyer’s first career victory came in 2007 in the fall race at Loudon. He dominated the day leading 222 of 300 laps. Bowyer has four top 10’s and an average finish of 16.1 at New Hampshire.
In 199 starts Bowyer has collected 87 top 10 finishes which translates to him finishing in the top 10 roughly four out of every nine races. In five full seasons, Bowyer has qualified for the Chase for the Sprint Cup three times, with a best points finish of third in 2007. Bowyer has four career wins in the Sprint Cup Series.
