Johnson Gets A New Front Tire Changer

The Virginia Pilot is reporting that Chad Knaus, crew chief of the No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy, has made crew change that will take effect at the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The team has a new front tire changer.

After rallying to a fifth-place finish at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, driver Jimmie Johnson was not pleased with his pit crew’s performance. He said that he was losing patience.

After last year’s pit crew struggles, Knaus implemented a system in which crew members could be swapped out easily. So, this move could been seen as part of what Knaus has been doing all season while trying to ensure that he has the best possible crew combination going into the Chase.
