FoxSports.com is reporting that sources are saying that NAPA Auto Parts may leave Michael Waltrip Racing, a relationship that dates back to the days Waltrip raced for Dale Earnhardt Inc, to join Joe Gibbs Racing. The rumor has Carl Edwards leaving Roush Fenway Racing to join JGR, replacing Joey Logano in the No. 20 Home Depot Toyota.
Logano would move to a fourth JGR Toyota with NAPA as sponsor. When asked about the rumor a team principal said that NAPA’s contract with MWR runs through 2012 and the auto parts maker is committed to that contract.
