Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick and his wife suffered minor injuries when an small jet they were on lost its brakes and crash landed in Key West, Florida, according to FoxSports.com.
On Monday evening, the couple was on a Gulfstream 150 registered to Jimmie Johnson Racing II Incorporated that ran off the runway at Key West International Airport. It ran off 100 feet beyond a 600-foot safety area that was completed earlier this year.
The Hendricks were taken to the hospital and had minor injuries. The pilots were also taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
Upon hearing the news, HMS driver Dale Earnhardt Jr said:
It was a real big scare. Very frightening to hear. ’I'm very glad that he and everybody appears to be OK.
