Labonte To Drive For FAS Lane Racing In Daytona 500

Terry Labonte will drive the No. 32 Ford for FAS Lane Racing in the 2012 Daytona 500, the team announced. Labonte drove the season-opener last year and finished 15th with the team.

The No. 32 will feature sponsorship from C&J Energy Services.

In related news, Michael Waltrip Racing struck a deal with FLR in which MWR would get FLR’s owner’s points from 2011 — the team finished 34th in the owner’s standings — to guarantee Mark Martin a starting spot in the 2012 Daytona 500.

FLR could still be locked into the field because Labonte is eligible for a past champion’s provisional. Ken Schrader is also scheduled to drive some racesĀ  in the No. 32 with sponsorship coming from Federated Auto Parts.
