Logano Mulling Two Full Time Cup Offers

Joey Logano, driver of the No. 20 Home Depot Toyota for Joe Gibbs RacingJoey Logano says he has two offers to drive in the Sprint Cup Series full time in 2013, including one from his current team, Joe Gibbs Racing, which is dependent upon the team finding sponsorship, according to Jayski and ESPN.

While Logano wouldn’t name the other team from which he received an offer, many speculate that Penske Racing has approached the young two-time Cup race winner about the team’s No. 22 that is now looking for a driver after the team released AJ Allmendinger following Allmendinger’s failed drug test.

Sam Hornish Jr is filling in, and could be a candidate for that ride, or a third Penske Racing Cup entry, if the team decides it wants Logano, and can find sponsorship for Hornish.

Logano has a hard decision ahead of him.

Logano said that he is not interested in a part time Cup ride. When asked about that option, he told ESPN:

I wouldn’t put that as an option right now. I feel like I’m capable of winning Cup races. I feel like I’m there. Taking a step back would not be best for my career. At the same time, you’ve got to make sure it’s the best opportunity. It’s not worth jumping down a notch to race more races if you’re not going to be competitive.
