After missing eight races with a broken and dislocated sternum, Michael Annett made his return to the NASCAR Nationwide Series, driving the No. 43 Pilot Flying J Ford for Richard Petty Motorsports in the History 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He finished 17th, on the lead lap.
Annett suffered the broken sternum in an accident during the season-opening Drive4COPD 300 at Daytona International Speedway.
Annett underwent surgery for his injuries and has spent the last three month healing. To prepare for his return, Annett began physical therapy three weeks ago.
