AJ Allmendinger finished 10th at Watkins Glen International in JTG Daugherty Racing’s No. 47 Toyota. That result could earn him the No. 47 car full-time next season, according to Godfather Motorsports.
In three starts with the team, Allmendinger has a 17th-place average finish, which is higher than Bobby Labonte’s nearly 27th-place average.
Meanwhile, JTG is considering a manufacturer change for 2014. The team currently fields Toyotas with a technical alliance with Michael Waltrip Racing. But, they are in talks with Richard Childress Racing about a switch to Chevy.
