Busch To Stewart Haas Racing in 2014?

Kurt Busch, driver of the #78 Furniture Row Racing / Serta Chevrolet, greets fans during driver introductions at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Bojangles' Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway on May 11, 2013 in Darlington, South Carolina. Rumor has it that Stewart Haas Racing has extended a multi-year offer to drive a fourth SHR Chevy to Kurt Busch starting in 2014. Haas/CNC would sponsor that car, according to unnamed sources.

Busch would join a stable that includes Tony Stwart, Kevin Harvick, and Danica Patrick.

SHR spokesman Mike Arning said:

Stewart-Haas Racing constantly strives to improve itself, and expansion is something that is often discussed. If the right opportunity presents itself, it’s something the team will certainly consider.

For his part, Busch said that he has several offers he is considering. He said:

This isn’t a decision I’m taking lightly. I’m looking at what teams have planned long term and want to be in a place where my opinion and input is valued. I like to be involved in the process like I have been here at Furniture Row. At the same time, I was hoping to not have this distraction while working with my guys to get us in the Chase.
