With Kurt Busch headed to Stewart Haas Racing and Earnhardt Ganassi Racing expected to announce that Kyle Larson will replace Juan Montoya in the No. 42 Sprint Cup Chevy, seats are going fast this silly season.
Another seat may be on the verge of being filled with JTG Daugherty Racing offering AJ Allmendinger the No. 47 Toyota for 2014. Team owner Tad Geschickter confirmed that a full time offer has been extended to Allmendinger.
Allmendinger drove a handful of races for JTG this season, splitting time with Bobby Labonte. Allmendinger outperformed Labonte, earning a season-best 10th-place finish at Watkins Glen International. With Labonte, the best finish the team posted was a 15th-place finish in the season-opening Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway.
Update: Allmendinger accepted a three-year deal to drive JTG Daugherty Racing’s No. 47 Sprint Cup Toyota.
