McDowell To Drive For LFR In 2014

Michael McDowell will drive Leavine Family Racing’s No. 95 Sprint Cup Series Ford in 2014. He signed a one-year deal with the organization.

McDowell said:

This is an extremely good opportunity for me. Bob [Leavine] and I first started talking about the possibilities months ago. I’m happy to be a part of this organization.

Scott Speed began 2013 in the car, but he and the team parted ways before the Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond International Raceway.

Speed started 13 races with the team, earning a ninth-place finish in the Aaron’s 499 at Talladega Superspeedway. He also failed to qualify for two races. He had an average finish of 35.9.

Reed Sorenson made five starts in the car, with a best finish of 40th. Blake Koch and Scott Riggs each made one start, both finishing 43rd.

McDowell made 30 starts in the Phil Parsons Racing No. 98 Ford, earning a ninth-place finish in the Daytona 500. He also finished 15th in the Camping World RV Sales 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.
