Pastrana Won’t Return Next Year

X-Games superstar and driver of Roush Fenway Racing’s No. 60 Ford in the Nationwide Series, Travis Pastrana announced on his Facebook page that he will not return to NASCAR next season.

Citing a lack of sponsorship due to lackluster results, Pastrana said that he had to step back from the sport.

In part, he wrote:

It’s tough to step back now and prove the critics were right, but unfortunately my results were not good enough to get the sponsors I needed to appropriately fund next season. … The NASCAR schedule is grueling and takes enormous sacrifices from those you love to make work. With a lack of funding next year, now is my opportunity to sit back and offer support as [my wife] chases her goals.

Pastrana has 42 career N’Wide starts, with four top 10s and one pole. His average finish is 21.3 in the series. He also made starts in the Camping World Truck Series, and the K&N Pro Series.
