Martin Joins Stewart Haas Racing

Mark Martin has joined Stewart Haas Racing in an unidentified role. Martin could consult with the team and could be available to test.

SHR competition director Greg Zipadelli said:

A guy with that kind of experience, he’s been to a lot of different race teams, he’s worked for a lot of different manufacturers. He was that guy that was a hot-head at one time. I think he can help all our drivers and myself with dealing with a lot of those things and sort of steer the ship a little bit.

Martin’s calm and level-headed personality could prove to be an asset for SHR, which has a full stable of vocal drivers with strong personalities: Danica Patrick, Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch and Tony Stewart.
