EGR Drops Earnhardt From Name

Earnhardt Ganassi Racing will change its name back to Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates.

The sign outside of the team’s North Carolina shop and the patches and decals on the cars have been changed to reflect the name change.

Teresa Earnhardt, widow of Dale Earnhardt Sr and owner of Dale Earnhardt Inc, has not been involved with the team’s day-to-day operations for quite some time and apparently has no financial stake in the team.

The team switched from Earnhardt Childress Racing engines to Hendrick Motorsports engines.
