Penske’s No. 22, Others Penalized

NASCAR announced penalties for three Nationwide Series teams following rules infractions found at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The No. 22 Penske Racing team of driver Brad Keselowski was found to have violated Sections 12-4.2 (P2 penalty) and 20A-12.3S (shock absorber exceeded maximum gas pressure). The violation was discovered during post-race inspection. Crew chief Jeremy Bullins has been fined $5,000 and placed on NASCAR probation until December 31st.

The No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing team of driver Elliott Sadler was penalized for violating Sections 12-4.3 (P3 penalty) and 20A-2.3A (weight attached in unapproved location) of the 2014 NASCAR rule book. The violation was found during opening day inspection. Crew chief Chris Gayle has been fined $10,000. Gayle and car chief Todd Brewer have been placed on NASCAR probation until the end of the calendar year.

The No. 9 JR Motorsports team of driver Chase Elliott was also penalized. The team violated Sections 12-4.2 (P2 penalty) and 20A-12.8.1B (car exceeded minimum front height). This violation was discovered during post-race inspection. Crew chief Greg Ives has been placed on NASCAR probation until December 31st.
