Crafton To Practice, Qualify For Menard
Matt Crafton, driver of the No. 88 ThorSport Racing Toyota in the Camping World Truck Series will fill in for Paul Menard in Richard Childress Racing’s No. 27 Sprint Cup Chevy for practice and qualifying for the Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway.
Menard will stay in North Carolina to be with his newborn daughter and his wife. He will arrive to practice the car on Saturday and race on Sunday.
Because he will miss qualifying, he will start at the rear of the field.
Menard currently sits 17th in the Cup series standings, 64 points behind leader Brad Keselowski. He has one top 5 and one top 10 so far this season.
