NASCAR Penalizes No. 39 Team

The No. 39 RSS Racing Nationwide Series team has been penalized for infractions found after the 300 at Auto Club Speedway.

The team was found to have committed a P3 level penalty by violating Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 20A-12.8.1C (car exceeded maximum rear body height requirement during post-race inspection) of the 2014 NASCAR rule book.

As a result, crew chief Kevin Starland has been fined $10,000 and placed on NASCAR probation until the end of the calendar year. In addition, car chief Timothy Brown has also been placed on NASCAR probation until the end of the calendar year.
