No. 51 Team Penalized

NASCAR has penalized the race-winning No. 51 Kyle Busch Motorsports team and driver Erik Jones for rules violations it found in post-race inspection after the American Ethanol 200 at Iowa Speedway.

The No. 51 Toyota was found to be too low during post-race inspection, which is a P2 level penalty that violates Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 20B-12.8.1 (truck failed to meet post-race height requirements) of the 2014 NASCAR rule book.

As a result, crew chief Eric Phillps was fined $6,000 and placed on NASCAR probation until the end of the calendar year. Driver Erik Jones and owner Kyle Busch were each penalized with the loss of 10 championship driver points and owner points, respectively.
