NASCAR Penalizes No. 23 N’Wide Team

NASCAR has announced penalties for the No. 23 Rick ware Racing team for rules violations it found during practice for the U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway.

RWR was found to have violated Sections 12.1 (actions deterimental to stock car racing), and 20A-2.3A (any weight added to the car must be bolted inside the body shell in an approved weight container and in a position acceptable to NASCAR officials: Weight was not properly attached and fell out during the event.)

The penalty is a P3 penalty, and as a result, crew chief Jonas Bell has been fined $10,000 and placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31.

Carl Long drove the No. 23 car to a 32nd-place finish.
