Ambrose To Leave RPM At Season’s End

Richard Petty Motorsports announced that Marcos Ambrose will leave the team at the end of Sprint Cup Series season.

Rumors have been circulating that Ambrose would return to his native Australia to race in the V8 Supercar Series, where he won two championships. Rumor has it that he would drive for Roger Penske, who is rumored to be thinking about entering the series.

The team said it is looking at potential candidates to fill Ambrose’s seat. The top names being tossed around are Sam Hornish Jr, Elliott Sadler, and David Ragan. Or, perhaps the team will bring on a young, up-and-coming driver currently running in the Nationwide Series or the Camping World Truck Series.
