Ragan To Sub For Kyle Busch

Joe Gibbs Racing has selected David Ragan to fill in for Kyle Busch in the No. 18 JGR Sprint Cup Toyota, while Busch recovers from leg and foot injuries he suffered in the XFINITY Series race at Daytona International Speedway.

Front Row Motorsports and sponsor CSX accommodated Ragan’s interim driving duties in the No. 18. FRM has made no announcement about the No. 34 Ford that is now vacant.

Erik Jones, who was rumored as one of the candidates to fill in for Busch in the No. 18, has been tapped to drive the No. 54 XFINITY Series Toyota at Atlanta Motor Speedway. It was reported that there was some concern about future sponsorship opportunities being affected if Jones performed poorly.

As of right now, Jones is only slated to sub for Busch at Atlanta. An announcement as to who will drive the no. 54 after Atlanta is expected at a later date.

Matt Crafton filled in for Busch in the Daytona 500, where he finished 18th.
