Premium Motorsports To Stop Fielding No. 66?

Mike Wallace, driver of the No. 66 Premium Motorsports Sprint Cup entry, posted on Facebook that he’s looking for another driving opportunity in any of NASCAR’s three top series. He said that PMS will not field the No. 66 in the 400(k) at Phoenix International Raceway, and the team doesn’t have plans to field the car at any additional races this season at this time.

After qualifying for the Daytona 500 and finishing 36th, the No. 66 team has failed to qualify for the races at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Brendan Gaughan will run the entire Cup season in the No. 62, the other PMS car. Brain Scott failed to qualify the No. 62 for the Daytona 500. Since then, Gaughan took over and qualified for the races at Atlanta and Vegas. He finished 28th and 38th, respectively.
